Dopo la morte scampata del marito, l’artista americano Ryan Mendoza, Fabia si destreggia tra strani incontri, offerte immorali, passi falsi professionali e il suo obiettivo di affermarsi come regista. I racconti di Fabia, in parte estratti dalla sua rubrica “Berlin Art Diary” per la rivista EXBERLINER, rappresentano il diario personale in cui una giovane donna in cerca di successo e riconoscimento sfidata ad attraversare incresciosi confini.

With self-deprecating, amusing short stories, Fabia Mendoza takes us into her world: the Berlin art scene. After the near death of her husband, American artist Ryan Mendoza, she navigates between strange encounters, immoral offers, professional missteps, toward her goal of establishing herself as a filmmaker. Fabia’ s essays, taken in part from her column “Berlin Art Diary” for EXBERLINER Magazine, are a personal chronicle in which a young woman in search of success and recognition is challenged to cross unsavory boundaries.

NOTE BIOGRAFICHE 

Fabia Mendoza è nata nel 1986 a Berlino.
È la regista del pluripremiato documentario di Detroit The White House sul Rosa Parks House Project (2018). Le sue foto e il suo lavoro cinematografico sono stati presentati da Vogue Italia, Interview Magazine, CNN Style e Vanity Fair, tra gli altri. È la protagonista del diario d’artista di Ryan Mendoza dal titolo Tutto è mio edito da Bompiani (2015).
Negli ultimi anni ha collaborato a diversi progetti tra cui Another Pussy for Putin, un’incursione solitaria a favore della band punk russa The Pussy Riots, Amerikkka, un progetto fotografico in collaborazione con Erica Garner, la figlia del futuro Eric Garner, con David Lynch, Rose McGowan e il fotografo americano Steve Schapiro. È docente presso l’Accademia d’Arte di Catania (Italia) e scrittrice per la Rhode Island School of Design (USA). La sua rubrica “Berlin Art Diaries” è pubblicata da EXBERLINER Magazine.
Vive tra Berlino e la Sicilia con il marito Ryan e il figlio Dylan.

Fabia Mendoza was born in 1986 in Berlin, Neukölln.
She is the director of the award-winning Detroit documentary The White House about the Rosa Parks House Project (2018). Her photos and cinematographic material were featured by Vogue Italia, Interview Magazine, CNN Style, Vanity Fair among others. She is the protagonist of Ryan Mendoza’s artist diary Tutto è mio published by Bompiani (2015).
Over the past years she collaborated on a variety of projects including Another Pussy for Putin, a solitary act for the Russian punk band The Pussy Riots, Amerikkka a photographic project in collaboration with Erica Garner, the daughter of later Eric Garner, with David Lynch, Rose McGowan and American photographer Steve Schapiro. She is a lecturer at the Art Academy in Catania (Italy) and a published writer for Rhode Island School of Design (USA). Her column “Berlin Art Diaries” is published by EXBERLINER Magazine.
She lives between Berlin and Sicily with her husband Ryan and their son Dylan.
